The Accounting Clerk III (PGM) is responsible for posting to registers and ledgers; balancing and reconciling accounts; verifying the internal consistency, completeness and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents. This position also assigns prescribed accounting distribution codes and examines and verifies the clerical accuracy of various types of reports, lists, calculations, postings, etc.
Responsibilities:
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITES
Examines, verifies and corrects various accounting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of data in accordance to accounting procedures. Posts actions, identifies subsidiary accounts affected, make debit and credit entries and assigns proper codes. Reviews invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, and if questionable, resolving with the submitting unit. Reviews coding transactions and processing material through data processing for application in the accounting system Performs analysis and reconciliation of computer printouts with operating unit reports Scanning, filing and other administrative functions. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Fast paced office environment, indoors with climate control. No travel involved. Working hours are subject to change based on mission requirements.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Stationary position approximately 85 percent of the time, bending, standing and lifting boxes not to exceed 20lbs is occasional. Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS :
One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School Diploma or
GED NAC-I
clearance required Valid U.S. Driver’s License Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check. Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Military Installation.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of progressively responsible related experience in an office setting Basic knowledge and understanding of the terminology, codes, and processes used in an automated accounting system (SAAS-MOD) Two to three years of customer service experience perferred.
SKILLS :
Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment. Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access) and SharePoint is required Ability to work with all levels of management
