Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Finance Assistant to join our team. The Finance Assistant will be responsible work with the CFO and to perform general personnel management and Human Resources duties.
Responsibilities:
1) Coordinates the production and distribution of the various accounting reports necessary for the smooth operation of MHCO to include such reports, donation logs, financial reports, monthly and quarterly statements, budgets, etc. 2) Provides regular (monthly) bank and investment reconciliation of accounts and provides the results to the CFO immediately. 3) Responsible for making accurate entries in the general ledger. 4) Coordinates accounts receivable, including accepting payments for the School of Graphic Arts. 5) Receipts and processes all non-donation monies received by the organization. 6) Coordinates all accounts payable, to include matching purchase orders with invoices, collecting receipts for all credit card purchases, coding invoices with the correct general ledger account numbers, writing checks for payments, and mailing of payments. 7) Prepares MHCO payroll and completes the process using the Paycom system. 8) Ensures proper handling of: i. preparing, posting and allocating children’s allowances to include any and all related record keeping and reports, ii. preparing, posting and allocating Petty Cash records to include accurate reconciliation, replenishment, record-keeping, and timely reports, iii. assisting the CFO with information needed by the external auditors. 9) Coordinates hotel reservations, Brown Cottage reservations, dinner reservations, catering reservations, and meal purchases as needed by the organization. 10) Inspects the bookkeeping and immediate surrounding office spaces in the Cobb Center for cleanliness, destruction, vandalism, maintenance, safety, and suitability to purpose and mission on a regular basis and reports negative findings to appropriate personnel. 11) Coordinates workers’ compensation claims, benefits package enrollments, unemployment claims, and employment verifications with

The person occupying this position must possess a demonstrated ability to do the job. An Associate Degree in accounting and/or bookkeeping and 3 years successful work experience in financial and/or payroll procedures are recommended.
