Hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office We are seeking a highly motivated Cash Applications Specialist to join Providence Anesthesiology Associates (PAA). The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and posting insurance and patient payments in a timely manner, auditing claims paid by insurance carriers, and ensuring the accuracy of payments. The Cash Applications Specialist will also assist intra-departmental staff to resolve accounts and perform daily bank deposits. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality work.

Responsibilities:

Complete daily assigned tasks based on deadline. Posts insurance payments including all bill types and corresponding contractual adjustments to patient accounts. Research unidentified payments, missing information requests, and insurance recoupments to ensure accuracy of ransactions. Review account transactional history to determine credit balances for patients and/or insurance to request refund. Provide coverage for tasks assigned by management. Identifies and resolves posting discrepancies; reviews, approves, and prepares adjustments and/or refunds as necessary. Identifies system and/or carrier issues, reports them to management for review, and follows up on escalated issues. Ensure compliance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of responsibility.

Requirements:

High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred Over one (1+) year of experience in healthcare cash posting or accounting is preferred.
