Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of an organization’s financial and accounting activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of effective financial controls. The FCB collaborates with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and maintain the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded Reconcile accounts including bank statements, credit cards and loans to ensure consistency and accuracy. Responsible for Accounts Payable and Receivable functions to include processing of invoices, payments and expense reimbursements for vendors and suppliers (AP). Responsible for generating invoices to clients, tracking payments and follow up on overdue accounts as needed (AR) Manage payroll processing ensuring accurate wage calculations, deductions, and benefits as well as timely payments to employees. Ensure payroll tax filings are timely and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensure compliance and timely payments with all business taxes associated with company operations Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Coordinate and oversee audits, both internal and external, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements. Monitor cash flow and deposit checks/cash if applicable Compile financial data and documentation for tax filings. Maintain relationships and collaborate with banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders. Implement and optimize accounting systems, software, and processes to improve efficiency. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Proven leadership and team management abilities. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.

Work Environment:

Full-time position, remote to start then transition to office setting located in Wilmington, NC May require occasional travel or extended hours during reporting periods or audits.
