As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in processing transactions that contribute to our mission. In this role, you will: Prepare, process, and maintain accounting records for cash disbursements, including identification of the nature of each disbursement in compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures with high accuracy (e.g. ACH/wire transfers, weekly check runs, credit card expense reporting) Communicate effectively with internal staff, external vendors, and bank representatives to address inquires and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries of moderate complexity, investigate, and resolve discrepancies. Apply a high degree of decision-making to independently review, approve, and record payments according to policy and accounting principles. Prepare and maintain computerized spreadsheets and other reports to support activities of Finance & Accounting team members and other staff. Your experience, skills, and education should include: Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level. Strong knowledge of computerized financial and accounting systems. Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy while managing multiple deadlines. Foundational knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting procedures. Proven customer service skills. Strong knowledge of manual and information systems internal controls. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. Four to six years relevant work experience, Associate Degree in a related field preferred. Starting Pay:
$25.00 – $30.50 per hour, dependent on relevant experience and become a key player in our mission to provide affordable housing solutions in New Hampshire.
