SCOPE OF POSITION
The Accounts Payable Clerk compiles, processes, and maintains accounts payable records for the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community. Further, this position establishes and maintains accounts and financial records for requisitions, purchasing, and payables.

The Accounts Payable Clerk coordinates the Long Term Care accounts payable process through preparing payable reports, reconciling invoices, assembling/verifying payable warrants, entering invoices/journal entries/fiscal transactions/ledgers/expenditures/etc., preparing invoices for coding, and reviewing budgetary lines for potential over-expenditures. Additionally, the Accounts Payable Clerk develops/maintains a filing system, reconciles monthly bills, audits processed work, maintains inventory records, alerts the Fiscal Services Manager of discrepancies, and provides assistance with monthly closing, quarterly/annual reporting, and reconciling accounts. Must be able to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position and department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; and One (1) year of accounts payable experience in a healthcare environment; or Completion of one (1) year of technical school or college level coursework. An equivalent combination of education, work, and experience will be considered. Equal Employment Opportunity Mandatory post offer physical and drug testing for new hire.
