Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist CFS is working with alocal nonprofit to identify their next Payroll & AP Specialist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as primarypaymaster for this organization, using Paychex Flex and PaychexTime & Attendance. Oversee, enter, and maintain all data withinpayroll system including employee records, working closely with HRas needed. Works with supervisors overseeing part-time staff toensure accuracy of attendance records, various statutory policiesand PTO, and labor distributions within Paychex. Supports HR onsubmission of bi-weekly employee contribution/deduction reports asneeded. Supervises all aspects of Accounts Payable entering/payingbills within QuickBooks. Works with department heads to getapproval on all invoices, execute online bill payments, and assistswith coding invoices. Works closely with the Programming departmenton weekly receipts and acts as primary A/P liaison withdistributors. Executes the physical day-to-day activities of thefinance office, including posting ticket, membership, andcontribution revenue into G/L from POS (Tessitura/Adyen),reconciling any differences from Tessitura, processes online bankdeposits, and posts appropriate entries in G/L. Works closely withDevelopment team to assure proper backup is provided forcontribution revenue as needed. Acts as Program Administrator forAmerican Express. Disseminates the monthly Amex statement todepartment heads, assists with coding, and posts to G/L. Preparesreports and schedules for the annual audit as needed by theController. Assists with month-end and year-end closes, includingbank reconciliations, posting miscellaneous journal entries, pettycash, and annual filings (1099, insurance filings, property-taxfilings, etc.).

Preferred Experience and Qualities :

Knowledge ofQuickBooks Knowledge of payroll systems, preferably Paychex Workingknowledge of Tessitura operating system, a plus. Ability to work asa team member and to work independently with initiative. Strongorganizational skills with excellent attention to detail required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Engaginginterpersonal skills and a high level of discretion

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting (preferable) or Associate’sDegree in Accounting (or comparable experience)
