Accounts Payable Specialist (Temp to Perm) 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 285 Straight Street, Paterson, NJ 07501 Position Summary The role of the Accounts Payable Specialist involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization, ensuring the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciling subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded. Their role is to provide a variety of functions which include processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, completing payments, controlling expenses and analyzing data. The Accounts Payable Specialist is a vital member of the finance team. Responsibilities
- Review and process vendor invoices for payment after verifying the purchase orders.
- Keep track of all payments and expenditures, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
- Reconcile and Import credit card receipts to accounting software.
- Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Paying vendors by scheduling timely check runs and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit.
- Responding to vendor enquiries and maintaining strong vendor relationships
- Prepare and analyze various accounting reports including variances, disbursement, and billing reports and produce monthly reports.
- Continuing to improve the payment process.
- Prepare annual 1099’s.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures related to General accounting functions.
- Assist the Controller with other projects and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Requires 1-2 years of related experience.
- MS Office knowledge including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Good knowledge of Accounting Software, Sage knowledge preferred.
- Effective communication and people skills.
- Analytical person with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to interact with various departments across the organization.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and payment issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Keen sense of urgency with all work-related tasks.
- Collaborator and ability to multi-task.

$27.00 – $29.00 per hour
