Accounts Receivable Clerk Duties:

• Process and post customer payments to appropriate accounts
• Review and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with customer payments
• Prepare and send out invoices to customers
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and interactions with customers
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Previous experience in accounts receivable or a related field
• Proficient in basic accounting principles and practices
• Excellent math skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Familiarity with accounting software, such as PeopleSoft, is preferred
• Ability to perform data entry tasks efficiently and accurately
• Knowledge of technical accounting concepts is a plus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional phone etiquette
• Familiarity with governmental accounting procedures is a plus
• Ability to code and categorize transactions appropriately
