We are seeking a meticulous and ambitious Bookkeeper to join our accounting team in Brooklyn, NY. The Bookkeeper will be instrumental in maintaining our financial operations, managing daily transactions, ensuring compliance, and supporting accurate financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Transaction Recording :
Accurately record and categorize daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring timely posting in the accounting system.
Bank Reconciliation :
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
Ledger Maintenance :
Manage and balance general ledgers, sub-ledgers, and accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and current.
Financial Reporting :
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings by preparing financial statements and reports in collaboration with the accounting team.
Compliance Assurance :
Partner with the accounting team to ensure adherence to internal policies, GAAP, and relevant regulations, upholding high standards of accuracy.
Data Monitoring :
Analyze financial data for inconsistencies, trends, or issues, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Process Optimization :
Identify and implement improvements to bookkeeping processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work with operations and management teams to provide financial insights and assist with budgeting or forecasting.
Software Proficiency :
Utilize accounting software (preferably QuickBooks) to manage records, generate reports, and ensure data accuracy.
Additional Support :
Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other financial projects to support the company’s growth objectives.
Qualifications Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience :
At least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, general accounting, or a similar role.
Technical Proficiency :
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas. Experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, is strongly preferred.
Accounting Expertise :
Deep understanding of core accounting principles, including debits and credits, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
Detail-Oriented :
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Communication :
Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively and convey financial information clearly.

Familiarity with the security or technology sector is a plus but not required. Compensation The position offers a competitive base salary of $75,000 annually, plus a $10,000 performance-based bonus. Salary and bonus increases will be available yearly based on individual performance, reflecting our commitment to rewarding excellence.
