Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist Protective Industrial Products – 3.2 Latham, NY Job Details Full-time $51,000 – $69,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Accounts payable Accounting software Mid-level Microsoft Office 3 years Finance Accounting Organizational skills Associate’s degree Accounting Full Job Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing and reconciling intercompany invoices to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions across multiple business units. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve discrepancies, maintain compliance-ready documentation, and support audit activities. The specialist plays a key role in month-end close processes and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the AP function.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Process and record intercompany invoices accurately and timely Reconcile intercompany accounts monthly Investigate and resolve discrepancies or mismatches between entities Coordinate with internal stakeholders (AR/AP teams, finance, and operations) across business units to ensure smooth intercompany transactions Maintain documentation for all intercompany transactions and ensure compliance with audit requirements Assist in month-end close activities related to intercompany payables Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation and analysis Continuously look for process improvement opportunities to streamline intercompany payable workflows Complete other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager

CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related finance role. Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently Meets timelines and builds relationships in a global organization. A proven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
