Save The Michaels of the World a dynamic, forward thinking 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization is looking to hire a qualified, ethical, dependable, and professional individual to fill the position of Bookkeeper in our Buffalo NY office. Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency required. Qualified Individuals MUST have experience with bookkeeping, 501 (c) (3) non-for-profit, federal, state and local grant experience, asset management, tax filing, and medical billing oversight experience. Experience with OASAS and DOH funding a plus. Competitive Salary determined by experience, education and qualifications. Responsibilities Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger Manage 3 person accounting team Work with State and federal reporting guidelines Familiar with Non-for-profit work and billing Bring the books to the trial balance stage Perform partial checks of the posting process Complete tax forms Enter data, maintain records and lunch reports and financial statements Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner Medical billing oversight Skills 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Experience is MUST . Proven bookkeeping experience Asset Management Invoicing experience Non for profit experience Tax preparation experience Grant reporting experience Knowledge of invoicing to government funding sources Financial Reporting experience Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software Proficiency in English and in MS Office, & Quickbooks.
