Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Rochester, New York. This Contract to permanent position requires a meticulous individual who is skilled in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable functions, and maintaining organized records. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the VP of Finance and other departments to support the monthly financial statement closing process and other administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the accounts payable process, including accurate invoice entry and payment verification.
- Generate financial reports as requested by the VP of Finance to support decision-making.
- Ensure all financial records are properly maintained, filed, and securely stored.
- Collaborate with the finance, operations, and sales teams to streamline processes and resolve issues.
- Provide administrative support to the VP of Finance, including handling special projects.
- Perform duties related to month-end financial statement closing to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to manage accounts payable functions efficiently.
- Conduct audits of accounts payable transactions to maintain compliance and accuracy.
- Assist in implementing best practices for accounts payable within a manufacturing setting.
- Handle additional responsibilities assigned by the VP of Finance as needed. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable processes and functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with auditing practices and automated clearing house (ACH) transactions.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Dependable team player with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills.
