$67,000 – $70,000 The purpose of an Accounting Clerk is to perform a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Generates accounting statements and reports Researches cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts. Prepares daily bank deposit. Review and post daily revenue entries. Code and post daily vendor invoices for weekly payments. Reconciliation of cash and other various accounts. Researches and applies unallocated cash. Oversees accounts receivable, write-offs and payment reversals. Organizes and maintains up to date financial records. Provides monthly financial and management reports. Maintains telephone and personal contact with staff and vendors on receivable matters as directed by manager. Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed. Operates office equipment including personal computer, copiers, fax machines and 10-key calculator. Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time Post month-end journal entries (i.e. accruals, re-class, and allocations) Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial and management reports. Assists in financial management and analysis, as requested. Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed. Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards. Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE A
high school diploma or general education degree (GED); college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred. 4 to 6 years of hands-on Accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Strong working knowledge of MS Word is required, specifically Excel. Experience with automated accounting systems is required.
