Job Description

Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a reputable non-profit organization in New York, New York. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about financial operations and member services. The role involves managing accounts receivable tasks while ensuring accurate reconciliation and resolution of member and employer inquiries.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and detail-oriented assistance to union members by addressing inquiries and resolving disputes.
  • Manage a high volume of calls and in-person visits related to membership assessments.
  • Analyze and reconcile member accounts, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Process various financial transactions, including cash receipts and credit card payments, with precision.
  • Reconcile and deposit cash receipt batches accurately.
  • Perform reconciliations for credit card transactions and other accounts receivable processes.
  • Collaborate with Council Representatives to address assessment-related matters and inquiries.
  • Support contractors and employers by offering guidance on dues check-off procedures and resolving remittance issues.
  • Review and process web check remittances and dues check-off authorization forms.
  • Handle additional accounting tasks such as accounts payable processing and bank reconciliations as needed. Requirements
  • Strong experience in account reconciliation and accounts receivable processes.
  • Proficiency in handling billing, cash applications, and collections.
  • Familiarity with commercial collections and financial transactions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of inquiries and transactions efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with members, contractors, and employers.
