Known for our fresh, seasonal menus and exceptional service, we host everything from an array of southern BBQ in our pub to large-scale events on-site and off-site. We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to help us stay financially organized as we grow our operations. This role is remote but requires someone local to the area for occasional in-person collaboration or document handling, as needed. Job Summary The Part-Time Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, vendor tracking, and monthly reporting. The ideal candidate has bookkeeping experience in a restaurant or catering environment and is comfortable working independently in a flexible, remote setting. Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions using QuickBooks Online.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices and client deposits.
- Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements.
- Track catering payments, deposits, and outstanding balances in coordination with event staff.
- Assist in payroll preparation and time tracking (in collaboration with owner or payroll provider). Not sure if this is required.
- Generate basic financial reports (P&L, cash flow, expense summaries).
- Maintain digital records of receipts, invoices, and relevant tax documents.
- Support year-end reporting and liaise with the accountant or CPA as needed. Qualifications
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience (restaurant, catering, or hospitality industry preferred).
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with sales tax, payroll basics, and small business bookkeeping practices.
- Based in or near Canandaigua, NY for occasional in-person needs (e.g. document drop-off).
- Discretion with sensitive financial information is a must. Compensation & Schedule
