The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices, as well as familiarity with financial software. Duties Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions, including debits and credits. Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights into the company’s financial status. Perform double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy in the general ledger. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies as needed. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making processes. Utilize accounting software such as Quickbooks for managing financial data. Experience Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred. Strong understanding of debits, credits, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting. Familiarity with Union payroll and certified payrolls is a big plus. Previous experience with NYC public agencies such as NYC School Construction Authority and NYC Housing Authority is essential. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data accurately.
