Job Description:

The School of Health Sciences and Wellness seeks Adjunct Faculty in Baking and Pastry, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management. The Adjunct Faculty will teach using multimodal methods focusing on program and course specific student learning outcomes within a program outlined curriculum to a diverse student body in baking and pastry, culinary arts, and/or hospitality management lecture and laboratory classes. In addition, the incumbent will perform course related duties such as taking attendance, completing requisitions, assessment and recording of student work, development of course content and lesson plans, engaging with students, attending required meetings, and articulating with faculty and staff to foster student success.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree and one year of experience in a culinary/hospitality industry enterprise. Candidates must be able to demonstrate expertise in baking and pastry, culinary arts, and/or hospitality management. Candidate must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and comfortable with learning and employing new software. Previous teaching experience with diverse populations in an industry related program, high school instruction, or on a college level is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Five years of experience including supervisory level experience in a culinary/hospitality industry enterprise is preferred. All candidates should be credentialed as a ServSafe Allergens Instructor/Proctor, and a ServSafe Manager Instructor/Proctor, or earn these credentials before teaching commences. Hospitality candidates should be credentialed as a ServSafe Alcohol Instructor/Proctor or earn these credentials before teaching commences. Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, or Bright Space is also highly preferred.

Additional Information:
HOURLY RATE OF PAY

 $93.84 per hour. No benefits.

WORK SCHEDULE

Will vary depending on needs of the college course schedule.
