Accounting Assistant 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 700 Mountain View Dr, Smithfield, PA 15478 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by managing various financial tasks. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in relevant software. The Accounting Assistant will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. Duties Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation. Manage accounts payable, including coding of invoices Logistics and inventory control functions as it pertains to a portion of the business Perform general ledger reconciliation and assist with account analysis to identify discrepancies. Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and financial reporting. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of month-end close processes. Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and reviews. Provide support in technical accounting matters as needed, including the use of QuickBooks software. Requirements Proven experience (3 to 5 years) in accounting preferred. Accounting Degree is a plus. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and practices. Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and payroll management systems. Manufacturing experience is preferred. Proficient in 10 key typing for accurate data entry tasks. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts and practices is desirable. Ability to perform general ledger reconciliation, account reconciliation, and account analysis effectively. Proficiency in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software is advantageous. Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
