PT or FT Fiscal Accounting Assistant Job Description:
Coordinating with Accounting Supervisor, recommending improvements in the student account procedures. Processing and Maintaining all aspects of student billing. Posting of all Title IV funding to appropriate Accounting Software, SIS system and Student Spreadsheet. Posting student payments to appropriate Accounting Software, SIS system and Student Spreadsheet. Maintaining student payment plans, consulting with students and providing students with a feasible financial plan.
Student Collections:
identify outstanding debt, monitor account balances and preparation of monthly notifications. Reconcile and post all Student ACH and Credit Card transactions. Managing all clinic and petty cash accounts, reconciling and processing reimbursements. Participating in weekly meetings with fiscal and financial aid personnel. Maintaining filing system for the accounting department. Performing other duties as necessary or assigned. Must be willing to drive to Morgantown. WV as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Must have the ability to do accounts payable and receivables, basic rules, and regulations pertaining to GAAP. Must have advanced computer skills with database experience; and high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have the ability to perform basic clerical/fiscal work involving judgment, accuracy, and speed with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to accurately process varying sums of money on a periodic basis while adhering to processing deadlines. Must possess exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills; must be able to interact with staff, management and clients. Ability to organize by prioritizing a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. Maintain confidentiality regarding records, files and other pertinent data.
