Foster, RI Partners Auto Auction is a small, independent Dealer Only Auction located in Foster, RI. We are a relatively young entity, having been in business for 5 years. We are in growth mode and this position is an integral part of the management team. This job will keep you busy!

Job Summary:

The company is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage accounting operations for the auto auction. This can be a very fast paced environment, especially on auction days. This role includes maintaining financial records, daily reconciliation with third party auction software, processing transactions, and ensuring regulatory compliance, handling the full accounting cycle, and supporting the team.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include managing the financial records (AP, AR, GL), for the business, as well as for the Auction itself. This includes reconciling accounts, third party software reconciliation on a daily basis, overseeing month-end and year-end closing, generating financial reports, preparing tax data for the CPA, maintaining financial documentation, monitoring cash flow, ensuring regulatory compliance, assisting with audits, implementing internal controls, and developing financial policies. You are expected to keep your finger on the pulse of financial operations so you can keep the owners updated in real time.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
• High proficiency in accounting software. ( Quickbooks Desktop is the current software that interfaces with our 3rd party auction software.)
• Experience with accounts payable, and accounts receivable is vital, along with the ability to analyze financial statements.
• The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of basic business tax regulations
• Strong communication skills are required.
• The ability to use strong accounting knowledge to develop and support methods and processes will be vital to your success.

Experience in the automotive auction industry is preferred, as is a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in accounting. A Certified Bookkeeper (CB) certification is also required.
This job does require work to be done in the office. For the right candidate, some bank reconciliation work could be done remotely 1-2 days per week.
