Job Description
Accounts Payable Specialist – Must Have High Volume AP Experience! Ferretti Search Charleston, SC 29492 Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist to join their finance team. This individual will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all transactions. The ideal candidate has deep experience with A/P aging, vendor categories, and general ledger reconciliation, and is highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and verify expense reports; reconcile reports with account balances and financial records. Maintain and manage the A/P aging report, ensuring timely offsetting of inventory deposits and debit memos against related invoices. Categorize vendors accurately (inventory, leases, commissions, etc.) and ensure A/P records are up-to-date and clean. Facilitate timely vendor payments, including ID verification, purchase order review, and discrepancy resolution. Prepare and submit weekly check runs for management approval, including analysis and selection of invoices and credit items. Monitor and update lease payment schedules, ensuring accurate and timely calculation and payment of all lease obligations, including base and percentage rents. Reconcile monthly vendor statements and ledger transactions. Identify and act on early payment discount opportunities; issue amendments or stop-payment orders when necessary. Calculate and report sales tax based on paid invoices. Maintain accurate, confidential, and meticulous records in accordance with company policies. Assist with additional accounting functions and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Highly reliable and discreet with sensitive financial data. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn and navigate accounting software systems efficiently. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred. Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred. 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience strongly preferred.

$60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
