Accounting Clerk 2.1 2.1 out of 5 stars 125 Hillside Drive, Greenville, SC 29607 SUMMARY

OF POSITION

The Accounting Clerk responsibilities is to perform the day-to-day financial transactions related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You will run accounting software to process AP & AR transactions including AP invoicing, cash disbursements, vendor statements, expense reports, credit card statements, AR invoicing, cash receipts, customer deposits and customer statements. A successful Accounting Clerk should be familiar with all accounting procedures and enjoy working with numbers. Good communication skills are a must as this position will communicate regularly with internal Project Management as well as external vendors, subs, and customers. Must be extremely detail oriented and be able to multi-task as a team player in a fast-paced accounting department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Process invoices / bills so they can be paid Assist in processing of weekly AP check run Match checks to vendor invoices and mail out checks Communicate with internal project managers as well as external vendors regarding any issues or discrepancies Process internal expense reports for our project managers including matching of receipts and proper coding Process monthly credit card statement including matching of receipts and proper coding Keep a thorough record of transactions Process service billing to customers Record and track customer payments; process credit card payments Keep thorough records of deposits that come in on current jobs and transmit this information to the project managers in a timely manner Assist customers with billing questions and be a liaison with the internal project managers team Prepare and send out monthly Customer Statements of Account Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and follow

GAAP Job Requirements Education:

Required High School Diploma/GED. Associate degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Work Experience:

Must have 1-2+ years of accounting experience. Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures Competency in MS Office databases, and very tech savvy to learn new software quickly. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks. Data entry and word processing skills Ability to work very well independently, stay focused, take initiative, and work well in a quiet environment. Customer service orientation and negotiation skills Aptitude for numbers, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Work Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
