Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Gaston, South Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within the wholesale distribution industry, offering a collaborative and supportive work environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong data entry skills and prior accounts payable experience to ensure accurate invoice processing and vendor communication.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices promptly and ensure accurate coding for recordkeeping.
- Maintain communication with vendors to address and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Perform data entry tasks with precision and consistency to support accounts payable operations.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure all payments align with company policies.
- Assist with inventory tracking and expense documentation.
- Facilitate check runs and monitor sub-contractor payments for accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to support billing and cash application activities.
- Utilize accounting software, such as Great Plains, Biztrack, and other tools to streamline workflows.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and well-functioning office environment.
- Support additional administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth departmental operations. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable, with a focus on invoice processing and vendor communication.
- Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong ability to reconcile accounts and manage payment schedules.
- Competence in handling check runs and coding invoices accurately.
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Excel for expense tracking and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in an office-based environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating within a team-oriented atmosphere.
