Friday Primary Duties:

Processes accounts payable for all Town departments; reviews invoices, expense reports, credit card statements and other payable documents for accuracy, completeness and proper authorization; generates, prints & mails payable checks and electronic funds transfers; performs customer service functions, occasionally supporting the front desk receptionist and business license clerk. Reports to the finance director.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software. Duties Process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy before payment is made. Perform general ledger accounting, including reconciliation of accounts payable entries. Collaborate with the human resources department to manage employee-related expenses. Utilize Tyler Technologies InCode accounting software for transaction processing and reporting. Assist in governmental accounting tasks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Conduct general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Support accounts receivable functions as needed to ensure overall financial accuracy. Engage in public accounting activities when necessary, providing support during audits or reviews. Maintain organized records of all transactions and communications with vendors. Provide customer service and other support activities upon occasion. Requirements Proven experience in accounts payable or a related field is preferred, or an associates degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively. Experience in technical accounting is beneficial but not required.
