Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and related transactions. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain efficient accounts payable operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and goods receipts using a three-way match system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with plant personnel to address discrepancies and resolve issues related to accounts payable.
- Investigate and resolve payment challenges, including pricing variances, quantity mismatches, and missing documentation.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Monitor open items in the system to prevent delays in payments or postings.
- Prepare and review payment proposals while adhering to company policies and payment terms.
- Provide support for ad hoc reporting and general accounting tasks as directed by the Finance Manager.
- Maintain organized documentation and contribute to process improvements within the accounts payable function. Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field – Strongly Preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable, with expertise in three-way match processes.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in large ERP and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex issues and investigate discrepancies.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
