Accounting Clerk Position Available In Blount, Tennessee

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented entry level Accounting Clerk to join our client in Maryville, Tennessee. This role involves working on-site to provide essential support to both the accounts payable and receivable departments of a growing manufacturing company. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering a great opportunity to advance your career within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting assistance to the Credit Manager and Accounts Payable Manager, dividing time effectively between both departments.
• Process weekly check runs and invoices to ensure timely payments.
• Support the Accounts Payable Manager with various accounting tasks and responsibilities.
• Conduct accurate data entry and establish vendor accounts as needed.
• Manage cash application processes, including payments, wire transfers, and lockbox transactions.
• Perform daily reconciliations of cash balances and make necessary adjustments to accounts receivable.
• Follow up on overdue balances with proactive communication and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain vendor files and ensure proper documentation is up-to-date.
• Handle credit card transaction processing with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with B2B collections to resolve outstanding balances.

• 1 year of relevant accounting experience in accounts payable and receivable.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting software is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
• Experience with account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in processing invoices and performing check runs.
• Problem-solving skills to address overdue balances and discrepancies.
