The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department by performing various tasks related to financial record keeping and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about numbers and has a solid understanding of accounting principles. Responsibilities Assigning PO’s for employees and vendors Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, coding expenses, and preparing payments. Utilize Sage 50 and Sage 100 for data entry and financial reporting, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date. Monitor AP email inbox for invoices and correspondence Maintain organized files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference. Manage collection of customer payments by sending reminder emails and following up with phone calls. Answering phones and greeting walk-in customers Answering after-hours emergency calls every other week (including weekends) for additional pay. Typical weekend includes between 1-5 calls and notifying department manager of needs. Other general office duties as needed. Requirements Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage 50 and Sage 100. Familiarity with construction accounting and job costing is preferred but not required. Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy. Solid math skills and attention to detail to ensure precise records. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
