Accounts Payable Specialist Position Available In Hamilton, Tennessee

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team for an immediate role in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a key part in handling payables in invoice-related transactions, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and maintaining communication with vendors and internal departments. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with accounting experience or motivated undergraduates pursuing a career in accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clerical support to the accounts payable and other internal departments.
• Prepare and maintain accurate freight documentation and records.
• Process weekly check payments and ensure timely disbursements.
• Input shipment data into the company’s database systems.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records or documentation.
• Collaborate with the production department and vendors to address inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance to meet workflow demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations. Requirements
• Associate degree or relevant certification in accounting is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Intermediate Excel proficiency, including working with formulas and large amounts of data.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience with accounts payable and accounting software systems.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Excellent data entry skills with a focus on numeric accuracy.
• Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
