The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software. Duties Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Maintain vendor relationships by addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies. Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately. Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable activities. Utilize accounting software to manage financial data efficiently, including Quicken and ADP systems. Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls related to accounts payable processes. Support payroll management tasks as needed, including double entry bookkeeping for payroll-related entries. Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth financial operations, particularly in governmental accounting contexts. Qualifications Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role. Strong knowledge of debits and credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Quicken and ADP, is highly desirable. Understanding of SOX compliance standards is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders effectively.
