General Description:
We are searching for a Accounting Specialist that could grow into an assistant controller role. This position is responsible for supporting the daily Cost and General Accounting functions at Universal Total Lubricants. The position also provides ongoing support to colleagues and managers, including monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, cost accounting and general accounting of internal sales reports, supporting our sales management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other functions. Ensuring all accounting tasks and financial records comply with accepted accounting principles.
Essential Functions:
Support our Sales and General Accounting teams by working and maintaining the accuracy of our reconciliations for Accounts Receivable, Cash, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Sales, Commission Reporting, Inventory, COS Variances, etc. New items standard costing. Oversee the accuracy and integrity of our standard cost items. Preparation of monthly internal and external reports. Support department in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Education:
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in accounting.
Experience:
1 to 2 years of accounting experience; commercial industry experience a strong plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge, experience, and skill in MS Excel. Basic knowledge of Pivot Tables. General knowledge of ERP Systems or commercial accounting systems. Basic understanding of debit and credits in cost accounting and/or general accounting. General understanding of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts. Excellent team player, excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to work flexible schedule at critical financial reporting times. Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency. Process improvement experience a plus. Ability to adapt well to change. Licenses and/or
