Accounts Receivable Specialist (Skilled Nursing Facilities) Rocky Top Healthcare (Affiliate of The Ensign Group) Knoxville, TN 37917

  • Hybrid work Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist with skilled nursing facility experience to join our East Tennessee Resource team.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards for 5 East Tennessee Skilled Nursing Facilities. This hybrid travel and remote position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, making it essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the AR Resource Team and in coordination with the facility Business Office Managers, take on assignments to collect specific accounts and/or troubleshoot and oversee the collection of various account categories (payors).
  • For assigned payors/accounts, ensure timely billing and collection of amounts owed to the facilities. When payments are not received timely, investigate and resolve claim issues.
  • Work with AR Resource Team to conduct subject matter training as needed with business office staff in multiple locations.
  • Communicate best practices with peers and staff at assigned locations.
  • Perform and/or coordinate month-end close processes when staff vacancies require one to do so.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with business office accounts receivable functions when location positions are vacant.
  • All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in established policies and procedures.
  • Many of these job responsibilities will be carried out remotely, but as needed, visit and provide onsite support to the facility business office teams.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Combination of remote work and visit to individual facilities as needed.
  • Works in office areas and throughout facility.
  • Moves intermittently during working hours,
  • Works beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays, when necessary.
  • When in facilities, may be subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors and exposed to dust, disinfectants, hazardous chemicals, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
  • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, or others.
  • May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including Tuberculosis and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Multiple years’ experience in the business office in the healthcare field. (2+ years)
  • Ability to work Managed Care and Medicaid payors. Medicare billing is a plus. (2+ years)
  • Ability to travel.
  • Able to prioritize and organize tasks at hand to meet specific deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work with point click care.
  • Knowledge of state regulations.
  • Presentation skills required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work with a diverse group of people. Physical Mental and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)
  • Move intermittently throughout the work day.
  • Speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
