We are a family-owned company that operates convenience stores, a bakery and dairy in East Tennessee. This position will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting decision-making processes within the organization. Review, validate, and process high volumes of trade (inventory-related) invoices. Match invoices with purchase orders and goods received notes. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies. Ensure timely payments to suppliers according to agreed payment terms. Monitor trade accounts payable aging and assist in month-end closing activities. Prepare and process payment runs (e.g., via ACH, wire transfer, check). Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving outstanding issues. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions. Collaborate with internal departments including Procurement, Inventory Management, and Finance. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation. Continuously improve processes and workflows for increased efficiency.

Employment Standards:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience (3 years) in accounting, finance, or related roles, preferably within the retail or convenience store industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing standards. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with an occasional Saturday.
