Job Description

Bookkeeping Administrator Monroe County Friends of Animals 130 Kefauver Ln, Madisonville, TN 37354 Bookkeeping Administrator Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer organization that has a mission to provide for and continuously improve the health, happiness and fortunes of the homeless and abandoned cats and dogs in Monroe County. The Bookkeeping Administrator is a part-time role that is responsible for overseeing daily business office operations and ensuring accurate financial records efficiently. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Monroe County Friends of Animals and is a key role for our business office.

Responsibilities:

Basic bookkeeping activities, including monitoring and recording office expenses, revenues, accounts payable, and accounts receivables. Prepare and maintain financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manages incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, mail, and packages, related to orders and billing. Reports any discrepancies to maintain a clear financial record. Responsible for processing and recording deposits for Wellness Clinic and Center. Balances and records daily transactions. Maintain records in the donor management system (Kindful). Filing and organizing records, invoices, and other important documentation. Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, clients, vendors, and donors. Provide backup admin support to the animal care team as needed (i.e. vacations, high volume). Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of Accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Business Suite, office procedures, office equipment, and data processing. Knowledge of Quickbooks, animal shelter software & donor software. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and flexibility. Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization, and multitasking skills. High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with spreadsheets and inventory control measures. Experience reporting financials to management and Board of Directors Monroe County Friends of Animals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
