Nestled in the Smoky Mountains and infused with island-inspired vibes, our resort boasts a 79-room lodge, 159 full-service RV sites, and an array of guest amenities, including on-site restaurants, retail shops, family entertainment venues, and more. Behind every clean room, delicious meal, and smiling guest is a team of professionals dedicated to excellence—and at the core of our operations is the Finance & Administration team. We are currently seeking a detail-driven, dependable, and proactive Accounting Clerk to support the financial engine that drives our resort. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting, is passionate about organization and numbers, and is eager to be a critical support player in an environment where accuracy and timeliness are essential. Position Overview The Accounting Clerk is a key member of our back-office operations and is responsible for supporting the accounts payable (AP) function, assisting with payroll preparation , managing daily revenue audits , maintaining accurate cash handling records , and providing administrative support across all financial processes. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, attention to detail, and collaboration with multiple departments, including front desk operations, food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, retail, recreation, and executive management. You will work directly with the property’s corporate accounting team and general manager to ensure financial accuracy and accountability across all income and expense channels. Core Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP): Receive, verify, and process invoices across all departments (lodge, RV operations, F&B, retail, arcade, maintenance, etc.) Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor obligations and maintain proper documentation Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices and work with department leaders to resolve discrepancies Assist with month-end AP close by preparing payable summaries and ensuring coding integrity Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and monitor insurance compliance when needed Support the reconciliation of credit card statements and company purchasing accounts

Cash Handling & Daily Audit:

Review and reconcile cash drops from multiple resort outlets (front desk, F&B, arcade, store, etc.) Balance daily deposit reports and ensure accurate bank reconciliation Maintain tracking of petty cash, change orders, and safe counts Work closely with the night audit and front office team to ensure seamless accounting transitions Identify and resolve daily over/short issues or inconsistencies with urgency

Month-End Close & Financial Support:

Prepare documentation and support spreadsheets required for the monthly financial close Assist the Accounting Supervisor in compiling backup for journal entries and reconciliations Maintain digital and hard-copy filing systems for all financial data Support preparation of city, county, and state tax filings (including occupancy, sales, and liquor taxes) Respond to internal audit requests and participate in external audit preparation as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher in accounting or business administration preferred Minimum 1-2 years of experience in hospitality accounting, accounts payable, or payroll support Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software (QuickBooks, M3, Sage, or similar) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, especially during month-end Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments High level of integrity and discretion when working with confidential employee and company information Experience working in a hotel or resort with multiple revenue outlets is highly preferred What You’ll Get in
