Accounting Clerk Position Available In Shelby, Tennessee

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in East Memphis. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. The role involves reconciling financial transactions, reviewing check images, and assisting with payroll-related tasks in an office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank checks against internal software and fraud checklists to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
• Review check images using banking platforms and internal systems to determine whether checks should be processed.
• Identify employee overpayment cases and collaborate with the Processing team to initiate corrective measures, including overpayment letters.
• Record and code overpayment checks in the case management system and prepare them for deposit.
• Manage off-cycle checkroom processes to support payroll and financial operations.
• Assist with mailroom duties, including handling incoming checks and ensuring proper documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while working with sensitive financial data.
• Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation in handling daily tasks and responsibilities.
