JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Accounts Payable Clerk provides accounting and clerical assistance for the financial functions of the College of Dentistry. This position is responsible for the accurate entry and processing of invoices, filing and record keeping of documents in accordance with University and Business Office policies. Matches purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices for payment. Performs various coding and data entry functions for the payment processing of invoices into the University’s IRIS system. Maintains departmental accounting files in accordance with University and Business Office policies. Receives and distributes incoming business-related mail for the Business Office. Ensures outgoing mail is sent timely and in a responsible manner. Answers telephone and directs all calls. Greets and assists personnel to include faculty, staff, student patients, and vendors. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of experience directly related to accounting/bookkeeping.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft applications, Word, Excel, and Access. Knowledge and experience with University’s IRIS system as it relates to various accounting functions. Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with a diverse mix of faculty, staff, students, patients, vendors, suppliers, and outside individuals. Accurate typing and data entry skills.
