Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this Contract to permanent role, you will ensure the efficient processing of invoices, reconciliation of accounts, and timely payments to vendors. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong grasp of accounting principles and a commitment to accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Process a large volume of vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies by working closely with vendors and internal teams.
- Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, including checks and electronic transfers.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address any outstanding issues.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounts payable procedures.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Requirements
- Proven experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in processing invoices and coding them accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with vendors and internal departments.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting certifications are a plus.
