Job Description

Specialist, Cash Posting 1.8 1.8 out of 5 stars Brentwood, TN 37027 The Cash Posting Specialist is responsible to ensure that all aspects of manual and electronic payments are accurately applied and reconciled within a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Payment posting manual/Electronic (ERA’s) patient and insurance payments, adjustments, and/or denials Locate remittances & payments in various portals &/or clearinghouse Read and interpret EOB’s Apply copay/coinsurance and deductible balances to patient responsibility Review of patient account balances as needed to determine posting accuracy Perform payment deposit downloads and bank reconciliations Daily cash reconciliation and reporting Research and resolve unapplied accounts Flexibility to cross train/assist with training/cover for other team members and/or with other projects as needed Identify and report on trends/issues Prepare, reconcile and complete the local bank deposits for mail patient/insurance/accounting payments & other hospital/clinic departments (does not apply to home-based candidates) Maintain/reconcile petty cash funds, process point of service patient payments (does not apply to home-based candidates) Post monthly agency payment reports Work to resolve unidentified deposits Work posting issue work queues Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

10 key calculator skills preferred Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English Data entry experience Familiarity with computers (MS/Excel applications). Basic to intermediate Excel skills preferred Requires developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management, peers and clients. Possesses excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships. Must adapt and demonstrate the ability to work independently in a quiet, dedicated workspace from home in a fast-paced, changing and goal-oriented environment Mut be detail oriented, a strong multi-tasker, resourceful and possess the ability to apply critical thinking skills to make good and independent decisions.
