Accounting Specialist 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 5 Holmes Road, South Burlington, VT 05403 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our South Burlington based accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices; proficiency in financial software is preferred. This is an in-person Monday-Friday full-time office position. Responsibilities Conducts routine data entry for accounting records. Identifies discrepancies and ensures accuracy in financial reporting. Issues payments to vendors as approved. Processes routine monthly payments. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, and reconciles accounts. Reviews and tracks bank transactions. Maintains the general ledger. Manages purchasing and invoicing systems. May assist in payroll processing. May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks, as assigned. Collaborates with team members to enhance financial processes and improve efficiency. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred. Strong understanding of debits and credits, as well as general ledger management. Proficiency in using financial software tools for reporting and analysis is essential. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy are critical for success in this role.
