Location:

Tallahassee, FL Position Summary:

The Client is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst•Policy Analyst with strong expertise in professional accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. This is a highly technical role that demands in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and government financial standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing specialized accounting records, conducting detailed data analysis, and ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage various specialized accounting records Compile, analyze, and interpret large volumes of financial data Ensure compliance with relevant financial statutes and regulations Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards Interpret and apply Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements Work with general ledger systems such as QuickBooks, PeachTree, CYMA, FLAIR Develop and update detailed desk procedures Support financial and programmatic compliance audits Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access for data analysis and reporting

Required Qualifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (State of Florida CPA license preferred) 10+ years of experience in working with

FASB/GASB

regulations 10+ years of experience in preparing financial statements Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access) Extensive experience with general ledger systems (e.g., QuickBooks, PeachTree, CYMA, FLAIR) Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial statutes and regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Ability to create and manage detailed financial desk procedures Hands-on experience conducting and supporting financial and compliance audits Deep understanding of general ledger structure, trial balances, and financial reporting
