Professional Office Setting Job Description:
The Client is seeking a highly experienced Policy Analyst•Budget Analyst to perform complex and technical professional accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting duties. This role requires a solid foundation in accounting principles, financial compliance, and the ability to interpret and apply governmental regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage specialized accounting records and documentation. Compile, analyze, and interpret large volumes of financial and budget data. Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements. Conduct financial and programmatic compliance audits. Interpret and apply relevant statutes, laws, and government regulations. Utilize and manage general ledger systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, CYMA, FLAIR). Develop, update, and maintain procedural documentation (desk procedures). Apply principles from FASB and GASB in financial reporting and analysis. Effectively use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access for reporting and analysis.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Education:
CPA or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (State of Florida CPA license preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience working with FASB and GASB standards. Minimum 10 years of experience in financial statement preparation. Minimum 2 years of experience in maintaining specialized accounting records. Minimum 2 years of experience analyzing large volumes of financial data. Minimum 2 years of experience reading and interpreting statutes and regulations. Minimum 2 years of experience with GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Minimum 1 year proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
Technical Skills:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with general ledger systems such as QuickBooks, Peachtree, CYMA, FLAIR. Knowledge of trial balances, general ledgers, and GAAP-compliant financial statements. Experience with financial and programmatic compliance audits.
