This posting is for multiple vacancies positions 60037996 and 65036335. This is a time-limited position. It is full-time (40 hours per week) with State Benefits for a limited time. Although the length of time this position will be active cannot be determined, it has the potential to extend up to 3 years (36 months). If you have questions concerning the time-limited status of this position, you may inquire at the interview. • This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management. This position serves as a Division Grants Administrator responsible for grant funds management and compliance, the completion of financial reports in accordance with federal and state grant guidelines and will process and reconcile monthly financial status reports for payments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the financial and business-related duties associated with the assigned program(s), including budgeting, grant and position funds administration, and fiscal and compliance monitoring. Work closely with program managers, budget officer and SEO management to develop, administer, and monitor the program(s) budgets, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations and requirements. This includes budget activities such as processing purchases, contracts, vendor payments, and general program financial and budget administration. Complete financial reports in accordance with grant guidelines. Process and reconcile monthly financial status reports for payments. Work closely with the SEO Business Team to align priorities and provide consistency across SEO and program implementor to accomplish program goals. The State Energy Office The DEQ State Energy Office serves as the agent of energy planning and program development to ensure a sustainable energy future for the citizens of North Carolina. This Division provides services and technical expertise on energy efficiency, encourages the growth and development of the state’s energy economy, and works to increase the use of renewable energy and alternative fuels. The State Energy Office supports energy efficiency in public buildings by assisting North Carolina governmental units manage the use and cost of electricity, water, and other utilities in their facilities. The State Energy Office provides programs, services, and technical expertise for advancing energy efficiency, increasing alternative energy and fuel sources, providing educational opportunities for the public, state and local governments, universities, schools, and businesses, and working closely with other state agencies in responding to energy emergencies during natural disasters and supply interruptions.

Management Preferences:
Experience with the North Carolina Accounting System (NCAS) North Carolina Integrated Budget Information System. (IBIS), and NC E-Procurement.
