About Your Role
As Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s financial health, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting operations. You’ll be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls while providing leadership in financial strategy and risk management. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to guide financial decision-making to support the company’s long-term growth. The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Executive Team. What’s a Typical Day Look Like?
Your day typically may start by reviewing financial statements, cash flow reports, and ongoing budget performance. You’ll meet with leadership to discuss profitability, cost control measures, and upcoming financial decisions. Throughout the day, you’ll oversee month-end close processes, reconcile accounts, review payroll and tax compliance, and ensure financial records are accurate. You’ll also lead financial strategy discussions, monitor industry trends, and provide recommendations for operational improvements. What You’ll Do
Your duties include, but are not limited to:
Financial Management and Oversight:
Oversee all accounting functions, ensure accurate and timely reporting, lead month-end closing process and manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial planning to maintain business stability.
Strategic Leadership and Risk Management:
Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and procedures to safeguard company assets, conduct financial risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, provide insightful financial analysis, and work with leadership to develop long-term financial strategies.
Budgeting and Financial Analysis:
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, analyze profitability, cost structures, and operational efficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement, establishing and monitoring key financial metrics.
Compliance and Audit Preparation:
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate filings, oversee audit preparation, maintain adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and financial best practices. Ensure accurate tax filings and financial disclosures in compliance with federal and state laws. What We’re Looking For
You are a financial expert and strategic thinker with the following qualifications: You have 5+ years of experience in an accounting, finance, or Controller role You have a strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles You’ve worked successfully with accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processing You value and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership and team management experience Excellent communication skills to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders Experience in the event rental, hospitality, or service industry preferred but not required What We Offer
