Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team on a contract basis in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership in financial planning, reporting, and budgeting for an upcoming fiscal year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in nonprofit accounting and financial management.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the next fiscal year.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and standards.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis to optimize financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Supervise capital management activities, including tracking and reporting on investments.
  • Implement and maintain effective auditing practices to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Lead the development and refinement of budget processes to align with organizational goals.
  • Utilize accounting software systems and CRM tools to enhance financial operations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide insights on financial strategies and business systems.
  • Ensure payroll and related processes are managed effectively
  • Support the organization in achieving its financial goals through hands-on involvement in key initiatives. Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and nonprofit financial management.
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems, Lawson highly preferred.
  • Expertise in cash flow analysis, capital management, and budget processes.
  • Familiarity with auditing practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA preferred.
