Description
Are you a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of finance and leadership? Do you thrive at the intersection of numbers and people? We’re looking for a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team in Presque Isle, Maine, to help drive our next phase of growth.
As CFO, you’ll be responsible for the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization. You’ll oversee Finance, Accounting, Billing, and administrative functions, ensuring strategic alignment, risk management, and sustainable growth.
In carrying out these responsibilities, the CFO works in coordination with the Board of Directors, the CEO, other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and designated administrative staff resources across the agency to ensure the understanding of the vision and strategic direction of the agency and the alignment of committed resources within defined parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Stewardship
Lead the development and execution of financial strategy, budgets, and forecasts
Ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and risk management
Analyze data and trends to guide high-level strategic decisions
Manage audits, tax planning, grants management, and investor/stakeholder relations
Operational Excellence
Oversee and modernize administrative systems and infrastructure
Supervise Accounting and Billing, ensuring alignment and efficiency
Create policies that support scalability, innovation, and long-term sustainability
Optimize internal processes and improve cross-functional collaboration
Leadership & Team Building
Collaborate with the CEO and senior leaders to define and achieve organizational priorities
Develop and mentor finance, operations, and administrative teams
Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in administration or finance with 7 years of progressive leadership experience. A master’s degree in administration or finance with 5 years of progressive leadership experience is preferred. CPA is also preferred. Proficiency in accounting principles, financial software systems, and strong financial acumen. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the agency.
Must be able to work collaboratively with other members of the SLT and support those who are implementing the budgeting and administrative plans.
