POSITION SUMMARY
The Dean of the Business Office is responsible for planning and executing the business operations and the fiduciary responsibilities and goals of the educational mission of Hannibal-LaGrange University. In collaboration with the President, the Dean of the Business Office provides oversight of the controller, student accounts, accounts payable, human resources, and other campus operations. This position reports directly to the President of Hannibal-LaGrange University. Employee must possess a vibrant, personal Christian faith including a clear testimony of Christian conversion and be actively involved in an evangelical (preferably Southern Baptist) church.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Dean of the Business Office oversees the planning and execution of the business operations and financial responsibilities to include: Serves on the Executive Cabinet of the University. Develops and oversees financial strategies aligned with the university’s mission and goals. With the President and Cabinet, determines key performance indicators for the Business Operations of the university and leads in meeting them. Serves as a key advisor to the President and Board of Trustees on financial and operational matters. Manages and oversees all functions and responsibilities of the Business Office Prepares weekly financial reports (e.g. financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow, etc.) for the President and Executive Cabinet. Communicates financial realities to all employees. Monitors all financial expenses and communicates restrictions on spending as financial realities require individual employees. Prepares financial reports for the Board of Trustees and meets with the finance committee to present reports. Oversight of endowments and restricted funds Serves on the Strategic Planning Team Serves on the Emergency Management Team Oversees HR Compliance Supervises and collaborates with the Human Resources department regarding staff hiring, benefits, payroll, and employee relations. Serves as Title IX Coordinator for Faculty and Staff Schedules and oversees annual University and Financial Aid Audits. Prepares and submits financial sections of IPEDS, U.S. and News Report, E-Z Audit and other institutional reports. Develops and administers an annual budget planning process Acts as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) Other duties as assigned by the President
DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
Work with all departments in conjunction with operational budgets, strategic planning, human resources and campus operations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Committed active member of an evangelical (preferably Southern Baptist) church Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred Strong knowledge in the area of budget planning and forecasting, accounting, endowments, cash monitoring and human resources Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal Able to lead, supervise and manage a team Organizational and time management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University Must agree to, sign off on, and abide by the standards of employment on the back of the HLGU application, and in the administrators and employee handbook Must affirm and sign 1978 Missouri Baptist Convention resolution on Higher Education, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 from the Southern Baptist Convention, the HLGU Statement of Sex and Sexuality, the HLGU standard on sexual conduct & HLGU alcohol policy.
PREFERRED
