Under the general direction of the Chief ExecutiveOfficer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will beresponsible for supporting the EmergeOrtho mission, vision andvalues by directing the organization’s financial planning andaccounting practices to ensure the financial security of theorganization. The CFO will continue to build and manage effectiveand streamlined administrative and financial systems includingaccounting, revenue cycle management, outreach, and strategicgrowth of EmergeOrtho as well as related entities.
Qualificationsand Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration witha specialization in accounting or finance, Master’s degreepreferred. CPA preferred. Five years progressively responsible management experience inFinance, preferably in a health care environment. Business skills in planning, use of information systems,financial management, reimbursement and managed care, healthcareeconomics, medical practice management, and team building. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively inoral and written form. Ability to teach and educate and to articulate positionseffectively. Excels in effective coaching and counseling of employees, aswell as definitive mentoring skills aligned with adaptiveleadership principles. Demonstrated track record of superior performance in Financeleadership roles. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experienceworking with a managed care and Medicare population. Good knowledge of medical office software such as but notlimited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerBI, Great Plains, UKG, and Athena. Ability to flourish in a team management system and workingwith a cohesive team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limitedto:
Strategy and Vision Financial Planning Participates with leadership team in short- and long-termstrategic planning and development of financial models and fiscalplanning objectives to meet short- and long-term goals. Implement goals and measurable outcomes of the Strategic Planas they relate to CFO’s finance and administrativeresponsibilities. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and leads Committeesas assigned, regularly participates in Board of Directors’ andBoard Finance Committee meetings. Responsible for financial analysis of all income and expensesto assure the development of financially viable projects andlong-term financial viability. Participates with the CEO and regional leadership in thedevelopment of business plans. Directs banking and loan activities including debt ratiocalculation and prepares reports of compliance with lenderrequirements. Directs Profit Sharing Plan(s). Directs Corporate Insurance.
Financial Policies and Procedures Revenue cycle management – Manage the financial processesinvolved in patient service revenue, credentialing, insuranceverification, billing, collections, and refunds. Develops, maintains, monitors, and enforces accountingpolicies, procedures, and internal controls. Establishes and maintains the organization’s system of accountsassures integrity of books and records for all transactions andprovides for security of transaction records. Develops policies and procedures on purchasing activities andprepares vendor and management reports analyzing purchasingpractices. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of financial andmanagement reporting for BOD, regional boards, leadership team,Providers, Managers, and line staff. Coordinate all financial audit activities and proper filing oftax returns of EmergeOrtho as well as related entities; ensurelegal and regulatory compliance regarding all financialfunctions. Coordinates and provides financial forecasts and varianceanalysis and presents forecasts to the executive leadership teamand the BOD. Provides contract analysis and monitors contract compliancerequired by funding sources. Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds asneeded, banking relationships and cash, investment and assetmanagement. This position works closely with the Compliance Officer informulating, administering, implementing, and monitoring compliancepolicies and procedures in adherence with the CompliancePolicy. Follows all applicable department and practice policies andprocedures. Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacyand confidentiality guidelines established by the practice. Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and othercomputer software as it relates to job functions. Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manageror physicians.
