BlumenthalArts seeks a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer(CFO) to lead the organization’s financial operations and long-termplanning. This is a key leadership role for an experienced financeprofessional passionate about supporting the arts through strongfiscal stewardship. The CFO will guide financial strategy, overseebudgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and ensure compliance withall regulatory requirements. They will also manage risk, supportinvestment planning, and partner with departments across theorganization to align financial goals with artistic and educationalinitiatives. Reporting to the President & CEO, the CFO will serveas a trusted advisor to both executive leadership and the Board ofDirectors. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise infinancial management, exceptional leadership skills, and acollaborative, mission-driven mindset.

Your impact:1.

FinancialManagement:

Manage the company’s financial operations, includingbudgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financialtransactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization’sshort and long-term business objectives and are conducted inaccordance with regulations, accounting principles, andstandards. 2.

Treasury and Balance Sheet Management:

Oversee and forecast cashflow positions and funds available for investment. Ensuresufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational andcapital investment requirements. Align the endowment strategy tomeet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements. 3.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement the financial strategyof the company. This includes short and long-term financialplanning and forecasting, risk management, and investmentstrategies. Align short

Financial Reporting:

Oversee the preparation and communicationof monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timelyreporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board ofDirectors, and other key stakeholders. 5.

Compliance:

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding allfinancial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance withlocal, state, and federal tax regulations. Assist other departmentsin grant reporting. 6.

Risk Management:

Identify and manage financial and operationalrisks that could impact the organization’s stability andreputation. Devise and implement risk mitigation strategies,implement internal control systems, and ensure strict adherence toany local, state and federal regulation guidelines and reportingstandards. Partner with Ticketing, IT and other departments tomanage cybersecurity issues and develop risk mitigationstrategies. 7.

Leadership:

Provide leadership to the executive management teamon their respective department’s financial matters, futurestrategic planning, and budget preparation/management. Educate,advise and provide clear recommendations to the Board and seniorleaders on a wide range of financial management and planningissues. Manage the finance staff team and ensure their ongoingprofessional development and training. Direct the annual budgetingprocess. Construct and implement policies and procedures regardingfinancial transactions. Networks with peers at similar institutionsnationally for sharing of information on trends and bestpractices.

Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Master’s in accounting, finance, or related fieldpreferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in senior financial managerialroles
  • Professional accreditation (CPA, CFA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, andforecasting methods.
  • Analytical mindset with aptitude for numbers.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and Microsoft Dynamicsproducts, preferably Business Central, and familiar withprogramming financial statements using cloud-based tools.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
  • A strong interest in and passion for the arts and artseducation and a commitment to its inherent value to ourcommunity.
