The Chief Financial Officer’s (CFO) primary responsibilitiesinclude directing financial planning, reporting and compliance,risk management, and developing and managing financial strategiessupporting the organization’s operations and growth. The CFO willoversee finance, accounting, IT, and HR functions and be a keysenior leadership team member (SLT).

Essential Job Functions, Dutiesand Responsibilities:

Assess and evaluate the organization’s financial performanceregarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Offer insights and recommendations for the organization’sshort-term and long-term growth strategies. Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software toprovide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate department budgets and make suggestions for savingsand efficiency. Create and establish yearly financial objectives that alignwith the company’s plan for growth and expansion. Select and engage consultants and auditors. Manage, develop, mentor, interview, and hire accounting, HR,and IT staff or consultants for an effective and efficientteam. Participate in pivotal decisions relating to strategicinitiatives and operations. Implement policies, procedures, and processes as deemedappropriate. Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports asneeded, including monthly profit and loss forecasts vs.budgets. Review and analyze monthly financial results and providerecommendations. Develop and maintain monthly and yearly operating budgets. Supervise the accounting, HR, and IT consultants to ensure theproper functioning of all systems, databases, and software. Review and ensure the application of appropriate internalcontrols, compliance, and financial procedures. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and managementreporting data. Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annualfinancial statements. Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state,and federal tax returns. Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewingprocedures while eliminating inefficiencies. Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems,processes, tools, and control systems. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Managepreparation and support of all external audits or inquiries. Take a heads-on lead position in maintaining a comprehensivejob cost system. Preparation of year-end tax work papers for the entities andowners. Review and approve 401(k) changes with the President. Review employee benefit plan recommendations. Manage cash flow planning process and ensure fundsavailability. Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategicalliances with vendors and business partners. Utilize models and activity-based analyses to provide financialinsight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets. Serve as a company representative to banks, financial partners,surety, and bonding companies. Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legalcompliance. Remain current on audit best practices and state, federal, andlocal laws regarding company operations. Client and subcontractor contract reviews, prequalification,and approval. Review and approve vendor applications. Provide direction and oversight of daily cash management,approve specific payables, and review and approve check runs to beexecuted by the President. Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidancerelating to the collection process.
